The documentary HOMELESS features the original song ONE WORLD ONE HOME, which was written by Valerio Zanoli (lyrics) and Valentino Favotto (music), respectively the director and score composer of the film. The song is performed by world-renowned singer Bonnie Tyler in collaboration with Dallas Street Choir, which provides a musical outlet for those affected by homelessness.

ONE WORLD ONE HOME serves as the film’s emotional anchor, adds to its poignant resonance, and reflects its core message of unity, dignity, and shared humanity. The song reinforces the film’s crucial insight that housing insecurity is a shared societal challenge, and it promotes social change by humanizing homeless people and providing a stirring backdrop to a film that seeks to move the conversation about homelessness away from cold statistics and back toward human stories.

The publisher of ONE WORLD ONE HOME and the production company of HOMELESS will use all the profits from the sale of the original song and the distribution of the documentary to secure affordable housing for underprivileged families, further reinforcing central idea that homelessness is not a hopeless condition, but a challenge that can be overcome with collective effort and compassion.

As the lyrics of ONE WORLD ONE HOME state: “I dream this dream / Of a life we share / Where everyone is part / And no one keeping score / There is room for us all / And so much more / There is no us and them / There’s no now or never / We’ll face a fair tomorrow / Standing here together / Open your eyes / We’re the same / We are not alone ever / We will find our true home / When we stay together / Don’t pass me by / Look me in the eye / There you’ll find me.

HOMELESS was produced to raise awareness and funds for an urgent social issue and global challenge that affect all of us as a society: On any given night, more than 700,000 people in the United States experience homelessness, while around the world the figure exceeds 100 million.

HOMELESS is not only a documentary, but also a powerful tool in the fight to end homelessness. The film has the support of the National Coalition for the Homeless and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, which is using it to promote its World Urban Campaign and #HousingMatters Campaign.

HOMELESS humanizes those who are often marginalized and overlooked by giving them a platform to share their experiences, dreams, and challenges in their quest for a place to call home. It strives to foster empathy and understanding, while also challenging viewers to reconsider how homelessness is perceived and addressed.

HOMELESS attracted the support of numerous homeless organizations, and it features segments with the mayors of Los Angeles and New York City, president Biden, the FBI director, the HUD secretary, etc. However, its main goal is to give homeless people a voice and explore their backgrounds, dreams, and struggles to find the way home.

Director Valerio Zanoli approached the project with the belief that homelessness is too often framed through cold headlines rather than human stories: Through HOMELESS, he aims to restore dignity and visibility for the unhoused, bring audiences closer to the individuals behind the issue, encourage viewers to truly see and acknowledge one another, and suggest that empathy is often the first step toward meaningful change.

Director and producer Valerio Zanoli is the creator of LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE, a transformative project that harnesses the influential medium of cinema to shed light on critical social issues. Over the past two decades, he has built a career at the intersection of cinema and social impact, giving life to films that raise awareness and funds for critical causes, stimulate conversations, ignite empathy, and drive tangible change.

Zanoli’s films talk of important issues (i.e. childhood cancer, bullying, Alzheimer's, homelessness), raise funds for prestigious charities and hospitals (i.e. National Coalition for the Homeless and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital), and move audiences to action. They feature Academy Award winners, have been distributed all over the world, and have won several awards (including a Social Commitment Award, an Excellence Award, and dozens of film festivals).

The documentary HOMELESS and its original song ONE WORLD ONE HOME are part of Zanoli’s ongoing initiative LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE, with all the profits destined to secure affordable housing for those who need it the most. This is a natural trajectory on his philanthropic journey: Since 2013, Zanoli and his other project HELPING VEGAS have already provided housing for nearly 2,000 low-income individuals – mostly veterans and senior citizens.

At a recent homelessness conference, Zanoli shared what drives him: “I’ve been helping the homeless population for years by providing housing, but I felt I needed to do more. So, I decided to make good use of my directing skills to give life to a documentary that is meant to show homeless people for what they really are: People. As a famous quote says, there is no ‘us’ and ‘them.’ There is only us, one human family, connected in ways we sometimes forget. I make films to have an impact and give purpose to my life. We should all make a difference, because, together, we can really change the world and make it a better place.
Bonnie Tyler
BONNIE TYLER, lead singer

Bonnie Tyler MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) is a legendary singer and songwriter world-renowned for her uniquely husky, raspy voice. She became the first Welsh singer to achieve a transatlantic #1 hit with the 1983 power ballad "Total Eclipse of the Heart."

Additional popular songs performed by Bonnie Tyler include "It's a Heartache" and "Holding Out for a Hero," a high-energy anthem featured on the soundtrack for the film “Footloose.” Decades later, her songs continue to be appreciated by different generations of fans and remain cult classics.

Through my travels, I’ve had the privilege of performing around the world, meeting incredible people from every walk of life, and visiting some of the most beautiful cities on earth. Yet alongside all that beauty, I’ve also seen a growing number of people without a home.

Many of them once had families, careers, and stability, but life took an unexpected turn. It’s heartbreaking to witness, but it also reminds me how fragile life can be – and how important compassion is. The gap between those who have so much and those who have so little feels wider than ever. Too often, the most vulnerable among us are spoken of as problems to be hidden rather than people to be helped.

But I believe we can do better. If we can show kindness, extend a helping hand, then we’re not just improving lives – we’re proving our humanity. Even the smallest act of compassion can make a difference, and together those small acts can build a brighter, kinder world.

Dallas Street Choir
DALLAS STREET CHOIR, choristers

Dallas Street Choir is a nonprofit choral ensemble that provides a musical outlet and supportive community for individuals affected by homelessness. Through weekly rehearsals and public performances, the choir uses music as a tool for empowerment, advocacy, and social change, while reminding audiences that every voice matters.

The members of the choir come from many walks of life: They are individuals who have lost housing due to medical crises, job loss, family rupture, or systemic inequities. What unites them is the belief that every person deserves dignity, visibility, and a place to belong.

For our members, homelessness is not an abstract issue. It is personal. Many of our singers know the isolation of being unseen, unheard, or defined only by circumstance rather than by humanity. Music offers a powerful counter to that invisibility. When we sing together, our voices affirm presence, worth, and connection.

‘One World One Home’ reflects a truth our choir lives every week: that home is not only a physical place, but also a feeling of safety, community, and shared humanity. Collaborating with Bonnie Tyler, an artist whose voice has carried emotion and storytelling across generations, amplifies that message in a profound and meaningful way.

Valerio Zanoli
VALERIO ZANOLI, composer (lyrics)

Valerio Zanoli is a film director and producer whose work bridges cinema and social impact, using storytelling to raise awareness and support for critical humanitarian causes. He has been centering his work on urgent issues such as Alzheimer’s disease, childhood illness, bullying, and homelessness. His films are notable for featuring high-profile talent and Academy Award winners to amplify their social messages.

Beyond filmmaking, Valerio Zanoli is an active social entrepreneur. He leads housing-focused initiatives such as Helping Vegas, collaborating with nonprofits and community organizations to address the affordable housing crisis. His work has been recognized by state leaders and national organizations for its commitment to social responsibility and community impact.

As a society, we have a collective responsibility to care for our most vulnerable members and ensure they have access to stable housing and the support they need to thrive. Too often, homelessness is discussed in numbers or headlines, not in human terms. This film is about restoring dignity and visibility to people who are too often ignored. If we allow ourselves to truly see one another, change becomes possible.

My journey goes beyond individual achievements and, instead, attempts to inspire a movement. I invite everybody to join me in creating a lasting impact. Through my work, I aspire to leave a legacy of compassion, innovation, and empowerment. I believe that, together, we can turn challenges into opportunities and forge a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

Valentino Favotto
VALENTINO FAVOTTO, composer (music)

Valentino Favotto is an Italian composer, arranger, orchestrator, sound designer, and sound mixer with a solid background in classical and jazz music. His work is defined by a strong integration between musical composition and audio post-production, combined with a natural curiosity for sound in all its forms and a continuous interest in new technologies and immersive audio.

Alongside his work for film and media, he has an extensive career as a pianist and keyboard player, touring internationally with Riccardo Fogli across Europe, the United States, Canada, Israel and Asia. He has also collaborated with a wide range of artists including Albano Carrisi, Ricchi e Poveri, Lou Bega, Paul Young, Johnny Logan, Gazebo, and Cece Rogers.

The theme for ‘One World One Home,’ which I developed throughout the documentary’s score, represents the emotional core of the film. Initially fragile and fragmented, it grows over time until it finds its full expression in the final song, becoming a statement of unity and community.

‘One World One Home’ reminds us that home is a human bond and we belong to one another. Bonnie Tyler and Dallas Street Choir give these values an authentic and universal voice, and they amplify the track’s social message in a profound and meaningful way. This is not simply a standalone track, but the final synthesis of a musical journey that aims to make the audience reevaluate the world we all live in.
